Research Project Manager
Maritina Stavrakaki is an Agriculturist and holds a diploma (BSc) in Crop Science and Engineering, a MSc in Viticulture and Enology, and a PhD in Viticulture, all from the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), Greece. She is involved in the use of ampelographic and molecular methods and tools for the identification and discrimination of grapevine varieties and rootstock varieties, as well as in the morphology, physiology and eco-physiology of the vine.
Over the last few years, she has participated in various scientific programs with the Laboratory of Viticulture. Her previous experience includes teaching Viticulture both at the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece and at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and working as an agriculturist at the Hellenic Ministry of Rural Development and Food. She has participated in many scientific congresses and symposia with presentations and publications.
Her involvement in agricultural information and technology, open data management and repositories practically began with her participation in the VOA3R ICT-PSP EU research project, which inspired her to learn and stay up-to-date with all the latest trends concerning not only her academic and educational background (Viticulture, Enology, etc.) but also the technological innovations related to agriculture. Maritina has both research and teaching skills and she is fully proficient in English, French, Italian and elementary proficient in German. She also teaches English at the School of Foreign Languages Tassoula Sifaki.
Maritina joined Agroknow in October 2014 as a Viticulture Research Fellow in the R&D department, leading and managing the "Viticulture Baby Theme", while also sharing knowledge across the departments and assisting in various projects. Maritina is currently working as a Research Project Manager in the Project Management team supporting the management and implementation of various projects.
