The Initiative Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN)( http://www.godan.info/ )is a call to action for a world needing better data to drive innovation, economic growth and feed a growing global population. It is a rapidly growing group, currently with over 240 partners from national governments, non-governmental, international and private sector organisations.

IFOAM EU ( http://www.ifoam-eu.org ) is the European umbrella organisation for Organic Farming in Europe. It advocates for the development and integrity of European organic food and farming. IFOAM EU currently has more than 160 member organisations, including farmers and processors, retailers, certifiers, consultants, traders and researchers to environmental and consumer advocacy bodies.

The GODAN Discussion Paper provides an overview of the way that open data improve the life of those working with agriculture and nutrition, aiming to eliminate food security issues and improve food production. In this context, the Discussion Paper includes a series of 14 use cases showing how open data can be useful in different stages of agriculture, food production and consumption which can also be used as Best Practices by current and future initiatives.

The Land Library is one of the core modules of the Land Portal, which is the leading online destination for information, resources, innovations and networking on land issues. It has become the authoritative virtual repository of land-related information, including peer-reviewed publications, policies, maps, and multimedia content.

The Food Safety Knowledge Network (FSKN) is a project of Michigan State University aiming to help strengthen the food industry’s response to the complex food safety knowledge and training challenges that affect emerging markets by providing access to free learning resources.
